Vote for Your Favorite Hero Dog Puppy Name

The TowerCares Foundation has reached an important milestone—over $2 million in grants, donations and scholarships to help support our local military heroes, Veterans, DoD civilians, and children in need!

TowerCares recently made a special $7,500 donation to the Fort Meade Alliance Foundation in support of the work they do to help military families stationed at Fort George G. Meade and their commitment to STEM education. The donation helped push us over the $2 million mark.

Vote for Your Favorite Puppy Name on Facebook - August 1-15
In celebration of reaching this impressive milestone, we want you to help us pick a name for our new Hero Dog puppy! The pup will be born sometime this month, and will be the third Hero Dog that TowerCares has sponsored.

Located in Brookeville, Md., Hero Dogs trains and provides service companion animals for disabled Veterans. It takes almost three years to complete the training/placement process at a cost of almost $40,000 per placement. TowerCares helps fund the last phase of training, where the Veteran and service dog are matched and begin their lives together.

Cast your vote for your favorite Hero Dog puppy name on Tower's Facebook page, now through August 15. The names to choose from are Ace, Blaze, Liberty, Star, and Scout. We don't know if the puppy is a boy or girl yet so we picked names that can work for both.

The winning name will be announced on or around August 21 so be sure to follow us on social media so you don't miss the big reveal!

Since 2015, the Foundation has provided $2,236, 876 in charitable grants and donations to 93 incredible organizations, including $360,000 in college scholarships to students pursuing STEM or foreign language linguistics majors. Reaching this milestone in under a decade would not have been possible without the support and generosity of our Tower members and employees. And, thanks to you, our Pennies for Change program is still going strong—every time you swipe your Tower debit or credit card, Tower donates one cent to the TowerCares Foundation. All those pennies have really added up, and to date, Pennies for Change has provided over $662,500 to support the Foundation's mission.
