TowerCares Surpasses $3M to Help Military, Veterans & Children
The TowerCares Foundation has reached an important milestone—over $3 million in grants, donations and scholarships to help support our local military heroes, Veterans, Department of Defense civilian employees, and children in need!
The Foundation recently made special donations to four TowerCares Community Heroes in honor of Veterans Day and in support of the amazing work these charity partners are doing to help those in need in our communities. The donations helped push the TowerCares Foundation's total giving over the $3 million mark.
Each of these local non-profits received a $25,000 donation from the TowerCares Foundation:
Camp Attaway - Camp Attaway in Columbia, Maryland, provides summer camp programs and support for children dealing with emotional or behavioral issues, and their families.
Hero Dogs - Hero Dogs, located in Brookeville, Maryland, trains and provides service companion dogs for active military, Veterans, and first responders in the Washington, D.C. area—many of whom deal with physical disabilities, mobility issues, hearing loss, and mental health challenges, including PTSD.
Casey Cares - Located in Columbia, Maryland, Casey Cares provides ongoing and uplifting support, programming, and events for over 1,600 critically ill and hospitalized children and their families, including siblings.
Hospice of the Chesapeake - Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland, provides physical and emotional support for those living with and affected by advanced illness, including many Veterans. The charity also provides Veterans in their care with a Final Salute by local servicemembers to publicly thank them for their service.
Reaching this impressive milestone in under a decade would not have been possible without the continued support and generosity of our Tower members and employees.
And, thanks to you, our Pennies for Change program is still going strong—every time you swipe your Tower debit or credit card, Tower donates one cent to the TowerCares Foundation. All those pennies have really added up, and to date, Pennies for Change has provided over one million dollars for the TowerCares Foundation.
